So here's a neurotic and odd question for you:
In the midst of relocating the majority our books upstairs, I have come to discover that we have an inordinate amount of copies of the bible for 2 people...they were gifts, keepsakes, etc. I can see keeping one that is a family heirloom... as sentimental. But here is the thing: would any of you find it creepy or wrong to give away a bunch of bibles? I'm not about to throw them out or anything (I could not bring myself to throw out ANY book quite honestly), and I'm definitely not on an evangelism quest....but so help me I feel guilty at putting them in the box of "to go" books.
I mean really...how many can a person need? Even if I were in a mood to want to sit down and read it...you only would need one. Some would argue that that would be one too many.
Would it be proper to give them to a church? Why am I even feeling guilty about this in the first place?
It's just an odd situation to be in. I'm just trying to purge books while I move them about the house. Admittedly I haven't had the heart to toss much more than a small box of books, made up mostly of misguided gifts and used store grabs from over the years. Both J and I are horrid at purging. It's harder than I thought....the extra things will likely go to the Salvation Army thrift shop...which kind of makes the whole bible giveaway thing a bit more fitting. Or not...it's just odd. Giving away books is tough. And, really, it's just a book.
So, um...Free bible anyone? I've got a few cookbooks, a Danielle Steele novel and some outdated software training manuals I could throw in to sweeten the deal...?
The fact that this even bothers me bothers me.
It's just all around wierd...

Eeez a meeeleycool
This morning, I left for work in a sad, frustrated state, having spent 20 minutes hurriedly looking for my work keys...they're a big bunch of keys for all the labs and rooms I supervise all on a lanyard. I finally had to give up and walk to work.
The whole way I thought variations of "Did I drop them? I don't remember hearing them...I took the bus home last night...are they at the lost and found? Will I get in trouble? How do I replace them? Where did I leave them? Crap!"...and so on and so forth.
At work, I unpacked my lunch in the lunch room and made some coffee. When I sat down, coffee and toast in hand, talking to a coworker I unzipped my bunny hug...and there they were-around my neck.
The thing is - they are a big ass ring of keys. 13 of them. I can feel them there. They make noise when I walk and bounce on my abdomen when I walk fast (like, oh, say, when I walk to work) and I can feel them.
I don't remember putting them there.
I obviously didn't sleep with them around my neck...and I swear they weren't there when I left the house or when I walked to work.
So how'd they get there??
Either it's a miracle or I'm a loonie.
Neither one of those makes me particularly comfortable at the moment...

Useless Fact # 438
A while back Blacula (and the following cheesy sequel) were on TV late at night.
Blacula was good for a laugh. And then some...
The queen was amused.
Later that week, while watching Pee Wee's Playhouse (what?) we noticed that the King of Cartoons is none other than the guy who played Blacula.

How awesomely bizarre is that?
I *knew* I'd learn something useful from Pee Wee eventually.
The word of the day is bizarre kiddies.
When you hear it, make sure you scream and yell and jump up and down!
PS - Turns out Laurence Fishburne is also Cowboy Curtis...it's a wierd old world.

Get out of bed! No time for napping...
I was watching Pee Wees Playhouse on BBC Kids the other night in a fit of boredom and *man*...it's even weirder than I remember. J loved it when he was little, but it was a bit too much for me at times...although my brother loved it. My Dad has a general dislike for cartoons and kids programming and he could not stand the show-for a man who didn't like Flinstones or Scoobie Doo, this was WAY too much of pretty much everything :). Just watching the intro got the theme song in my head for days...it's still there.
Damn it.
It makes me want to have a special word of the day today.
The word is "research".
Remember to scream and yell kiddies when you hear it today!

Tee hee and a few bits and bobs
My brother just got a new Mac.
We spent the day bumming about and we had fun playing with the camera and software...

Oy! Don't run away!
Hey, where are you off to? Please stay - I made lemon loaf. You can have some...I'll mail it to you & everything. Well maybe just the recipe would be better. Or not. It *is* good tho.
Really. I'm eating a piece right now.
I had a lovely day. Went to the gallery with my brother, had lunch in an old diner, went to a craft show where my sis-in-law had a table selling some of her jewellry and scored some hand knit (fleece lined) mittens for little made by a cute little mennonite lady. Once I idiot string them they'll be inseparable form me this winter. So soft...sooo warm...sooo ppprrrreessssscioussssssss.
Oh...and I've decided I really like the word capricious.
I plan on using it as much as possible...in the most capricious of ways.
Um........SCIENCE!
*whooosh!*
