Universe in a bag

Another odd dream last night after staying up late working on my committee meeting speech.

One of the lesser gods (he had a big beard and a brass armband and HUGE pecs) had the universe in his cupped hands to protect it from a cosmic storm. He showed me all the swirling galaxies and little atoms whirling around in his palms. It was beautiful and I asked if I could hold it...he said I couldn't. That it would burn me. Then he grinned and he put it in a bag and gave it to me to hold for a bit...Yup, he entrusted me with the universe.
And then he had to leave for an emergency. I stood there with the universe in a bag and, unable to help myself, I tried to look inside at it. One of the galaxies burned my hand and I accidentally dropped the universe. It slipped out of my hands and slowly fell...and I woke with a start to J standing over me asking if I was OK...apparently I was talking in my sleep.

I muttered something like "it's OK I just dropped the universe..." and rolled over and went back to sleep. He kissed me on the cheek and went to off to work the early show.

I'm sure he's utterly baffled.
All I know is I'm all wound up again...

What do we really know about chickens?

I can tell I'm stressed out with my project and all the things I'm juggling as I'm having bizarre dreams. They usually come when my brain is trying to wimble out and make sense of things while I sleep. When I'm exhausted but my brain is still whirling away.
Last night was no exception.

I dreamt that J and I were in a pub with a big roaring fireplace and cheap plastic tables with about 6 tables of people. It was open mic talent night and each table was doing a song/skit or something for the prize of a round of beer. J and I were at a table with someone we know as well as a short woman with dark hair and a huge red guitar and a man with a chicken and a top hat. We had made plans to sing a song about chickens and then the hat man would make it disappear - we were sure we'd win. But then I went to get a beer (liquid courage) and returned to find only J and I were left as the others had stepped out for a bit. And it was our turn, and so he and I strolled up, squawking chicken in hand and decided to make up a song about chickens as we went along. I picked up the mic and said "ladies and gentlemen....what do we really know about chickens?"

And then, thankfully, I woke up.

I can't wait to get my first progress meeting over with so I can get some proper sleep :)

Please give now to the scare the bejeezus out of my spouse fund

Anyone have a spare $150 lying about they could lend me?
It's for a good cause, really.
I was out shopping the other day and found these huge scary puppets and I so very dearly want one. Why? Well, scaring small chillins when they come to beg for candy next week is all fine and good, and would be fun, but I would really want one so I could finally get revenge for the Obiwan induced twitches cast upon me a few years ago by my loving J. I could finally equal the "Gah!" and "EEps!" that I kept randomly spitting out upon seeing a figure in the dark in rooms or out of the corner of my eye in random rooms of my then new house...as my loving husband moved my lifesize Obiwan cutout randomly about the house. Let's just say I'm an easy scare and J isn't...and I have a secret dream to just once scare him silly...but in a good way. Yeah.
Anyways, back to this puppet. This puppetish thing has a big scary head about 2 times normal size that mounts on your shoulders above your head and a shawl comes down to cover your head and shoulders....and there are huge clawey arms about 6 feet long with puppet sticks you hold in your hands to wave scarily about. There were a number of choices - skeleton, witch, zombie, frankenstein and a demon. You could even put in a battery so the their eyes would light up red from some LEDs in them. I mean how cool is that? And I bet I'd finally get to scare him. Just once. Just think...he comes down for a drink of water, opens the fridge and slowly a large scaly hand curls around the door and then a huge monstrous head growls and peeks at him over it. Or I grab slowly from behind the couch...or from under the bed...or just well, anywhere really.
Of course I know eventually it'd be used back on me causing me to loose control of my bodily functions but for one brief moment I could be the scareyer and not the scareyeee (yes it's a word).

Anyone want to contribute to the scare my husband out of his pants fund??

Swinging party...pity I wasn't invited

I had a very vivid dream last night.

I was living somewhere in Europe, it was a warm summer night and everyone I knew from all over the world, including people I know in the blogosphere were all getting together to go out for supper and an evening at a 200 year old house. Apparently we had the "VIP" private place to ourselves and the place had multiple floors with wood and stone, a big fireplace, winding staircases, great food and mango wine, with music varying from floor to floor in the place...where we sat was all cosy with couches like someone's living room, only it had a hallway that lead to dance area full of happy people , where a great DJ was spinning music...but yet that wasn't the place to be...our gathering was the cosy place, with a garden lit by torches full of sparkly fountains - the sky was clear and the moon was full...I remember there was a telescope on a balcony where my friend Ken was looking at saturn.

And everyone I knew was there...some as slight caricatures of themselves. Some were animated, some shiny...it was strange, but "right". And people I've never actually seen, like Betty, Pacian and Diddums, well they were there too, but when I tried to actually focus on them they went a bit blurry, like camera out of focus. For them I more remember facial expressions and comments, but yet for an appearance, not very much, as their appearance would morph slowly over the dream...only their clothes would stay relatively the same.

I woke up wishing I knew of a place like that and wondering how I could pull that off in real life...and how to make mango wine. Sadly, noone I know lives in a castle...or do you? *blinks hopefully*

Cunning Plans
